Situated just below the tower, the cave was found during the tower’s construction. A fissure measuring about one meter wide and three to four meters high running down a slight slope for about thirty meters, the cave could also be accessed through an internal corridor from the hermitage and the church. An altar was placed in a small, natural cavern near the end of the cave, where the remains of an ancient burial were found.
