On Monte Labbro, David Lazzaretti founded a community made up of three societies: the Eremiti Penitentiaries and Penitents, with the symbol of faith; the Society of the Holy League and Christian Brotherhood, a sort of mutual aid society with the symbol of charity, and the Society of Christian families, with the symbol of hope, founded through the sharing of goods and work. In the days following the procession of 18th August 1878, the buildings of Monte Labbro were subjected to looting and destruction. The recovery work carried out by the municipal administration between 2003 and 2004 and the consolidation intervention in 2017 have pieced together valuable cultural heritage for the history and memory of the Amiata community.
