A permanent exhibition of photographs and documentary material was set up in the Archive of the Soldiers and Veterans of Castel del Piano in 2014 to mark the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War. The selection of materials on display highlights the importance of the contribution made by the Amiata community during the tragic war event from 1914 to 1918. Closely connected to the Monument to the Fallen in Piazza della Rimembranza, the exhibition involves the active participation of heirs of fallen soldiers through the digitalization of preserved photographic material, a project which currently brings together 161 photographs.
