Castel del Piano is situated at the top of a small trachyte hill, its medieval castle and village built along the southern walls dating back to the 16th century. Corso Nasini, the main thoroughfare that bisects the historic settlement and is overlooked by the town’s main civic and private buildings, connects Piazza Madonna and Piazza Vegni, the two main squares of Castel del Piano which provide meeting places for its population.
