Ethnographic Museum of Santa Caterina

Built in the 16th century and restored and enlarged in 1960, the Chapel of Saint Catherine of Alexandria is located on the locality of Santa Caterina in the direction of Scansano. Linked to the cult of Saint Catherine, the tradition of “Focarazza” takes place every year on November 24th on the eve of feast of the Saint. The ethnographic museum, which documents the work and traditions of the Amiata area, was created inside a former blacksmith's forge in 1987.
